In this self-portrait I explore the dance between decision-making and the acceptance of varied paths to success and understanding. It's a personal reflection on the nature of sight vs. insight. As I navigate through life, I'm often reminded that seeing isn't the same as understanding. The multiple versions of myself, many blindfolded, represent the multifaceted journey I undergo in search of clarity. ​ I find it curious that sometimes, the more I try to see, the less clear things become. My biases, fears, and expectations can cloud my vision, making the truth elusive. In these moments, I embrace "blind faith" -- a belief that there's a form of sight beyond the eyes, one that arises from intuition and the courage to trust the unknown. Blind Clarity is my truth that direction and purpose often come not from a clear view of the horizon, but from inner conviction. It's the leaps of faith I take, the decisions made in the face of incomplete information, and the commitment to trust in the process. As of 2023, Sondra has added art requests due to her current work. ​ ​ WHY? Sondra Bernstein created the Sonoma FIG Foundation Fund in 2016 for many reasons, but most of all to share the passion she has felt as an entrepreneur over the past twenty years. It all started with a dream and a goal. She set her sights on a desire to feed, entertain, and make people happy by showing them a good time and serving them delicious food, prepared well, in a fun environment. What transpired over the following twenty seven years became something much larger; a company with over 200 employees, two restaurants, a catering company, a food truck, two books, a product line and a pop-up space. These all started as ideas and there were many more; some worked, some didn't - but you must start somewhere. The Sonoma FIG Foundation Fund wants to help make that start possible. ​ 25% of all proceeds from the purchase of art at the girl & the fig will be donated to the Sonoma FIG Foundation Fund.
