Something New is Taking Place in Sonoma

In case you haven’t heard… something new is taking shape in Sonoma from your friends at the girl & the fig.
A space built around food, art, and community—familiar in spirit, new in form. Later this spring / early summer, we open Dead Letter and PROTO.logue DIGITAL.
From 1896 to 1910, the building served as one of Sonoma’s early post offices. A place of exchange—messages sent, received, and sometimes lost.Over time, many have passed through these walls, each leaving something behind.
We step into that history with intention.
The timeline has stretched, as these things do.
We’re now looking toward late spring to early summer.
There will be glimpses, but not the full picture.
Some things are meant to be discovered in person.
Dead Letter is a place for local, hand-crafted food that blends flavors, techniques, and seasons.
Thoughtfully curated ingredients.
The bar at Dead Letter, where mixology is treated as its own form of artistry—thoughtfully composed, layered with flavor, and designed to surprise and evolve with the seasons.

A small detail: an Art-o-mat.A vintage machine, reimagined to dispense art.
Analog, tactile, unpredictable.
A quiet counterpoint to the digital.

Opening alongside it: Collected + Created.
Over 100 international artists in our first exhibit.
A reflection of what’s been gathered—and what continues to unfold.

Some things
take time to
reveal themselves.
We’re getting close.
MORE SOON...
PS
Some of the ideas behind this space live outside of it.
The Curator’s Notebook is Sondra's ongoing series of reflections—on art, collecting, process, and the spaces we build around them.

Looking forward to the newest FIG experience!!!
