Summer is Flying By
As the Watch Duty app on my phone incessantly buzzes with alerts and the temperatures continue to soar, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore the looming specter of global warming. The reminders highlight the urgency of climate change, prompting me to advocate for sustainable practices. My environmental pieces aim to inspire hope and encourage collective action for a sustainable future. Engaging with the theme of 'Hope in Action' through my work in progress art for the

Inspiration and The Road to Valencia
A chef inspired by the seasons, local farms, flavors, techniques, global awareness, and the legacy of past chefs shares a striking similarity with an artist drawing inspiration from the seasons, landscapes, colors, techniques, and the artists who came before. The parallels between chefs and artists in their quest for inspiration are remarkably similar. AI enhances this inspiration further for me, allowing me to work on projects across various platforms. The generations and ou

'words beyond words'
'The Writing is on the Wall' It is a privilege to have been chosen for the most recent opencall by MintGoldDust, titled , "words beyond words," which can be seen here . I have taken part in several of MintGoldDust's exhibitions, all of which are meticulously curated in a way that stimulates reflection. I submitted "The Writing is on the Wall' is a piece that continues the themes in my latest body of work called "The Art of Evolution" which is now presented in an 80-page sof

JAPAN TRAVELOGUE IN PIX!!
So much fun exploring Japan with some of my family; Ron, Bev, Evan and Maddy! This was a jam packed schedule that I could barely keep up with, and the first trip that I did not plan. They did a great job on the itinerary and we saw so much in a short time. This trip to Japan was jam-packed with activities. We visited shrines, gardens, markets, department stores, restaurants, and even had time for a lot of shopping and art appreciation. I created a travel guide of some of our

Artist Discovery :: niceaunties
About a month ago, I kept encountering art by someone known as niceaunties on social media. In a world where much of AI art seems homogeneous, her work truly stands out. Through AI-enhanced photographs and videos, she shares her vivid imagination, drawing on her childhood and community experiences. The image below is just a tiny glimpse of her work, and I sincerely encourage you to explore what she is doing more deeply. (Links below) Based in Singapore, artist and designer Ni

Interview on The Digital Easel by Rikkar
As you may know, we are inundated with newsletters, podcasts and social media feeds. It's hard to decide what you are willing to give your time to. In weeding through so much content, I am trying to focus on the media that I find most inspirational and filled with real information and not just THE NOISE. Not just because I have been featured in this newsletter, but I have found that The Digital Easel is one of the best newsletters I have read recently. Rikkar includes an intr

NFT/NYC 2024
Even though I did not get a chance to go to the conference this year (and definitely had FOMO watching so many friends connecting in real life - next year!) at least my art was shown. I posted some social media teasers that my work can be found all over New York. What a Year ...
HAPPY EVERYTHING!!! The Short Version I've had an incredibly productive and enriching year, especially in the realms of AI and digital art, alongside my community engagement and travel. My experiences with various AI platforms like MidJourney and my deep engagement in the digital art community through exhibitions, online discussions, and the creation of a physical magazine demonstrate my commitment to the field. Balancing my digital explorations with physical travels, from th

Hot off the Press
When stepping back from my restaurant operations, I was relieved to be able to pass on interviews and responses to questions to John. In the restaurant business part of the marketing strategy is to achieve as much good press, social media as you can get to get guests through the door. In my much quieter art space, I have not publicly answered too many questions and when Michelle reached out to do a story , I had to think about it before commiting. However, Michelle's writing

SearchLight Curators
Learn about the SearchLight Curators with this article on the Joyn platform in a pre-empt to the upcoming Open Call. The article includes information about each of the curators featured. I have been working with SearchLight for over two years now - working towards highlighting emerging artists in virtual and IRL exhibits. When I started we had an artist pool of about 300 creators and now we have over 500. It has been a rewarding experience getting to know the curators and

LISBON I went to Lisbon in June for the Non Fungible Conference which was amazing. In a very immersive experience I was able to see hundreds of artists work on very large screens. The conference was held in a historic building in Parque Eduardo VII. The schedule was spread out over 4 stages with an exhibition floor with web3 vendors. The energy of the group was enthusiastic and thrilled to be there sharing process and art. I was one of 5 artists to have their art shown in

Profile Article on Mint Gold Dust
This is one of the platform that I mint my work on and they were kind enough to interview me and write a lovely article. 79 AU | 5.04-05.10 TRANSFORMATION IN ART "Spring is a season of transformation. After the slumber of winter, nature comes back to life. And after a period of hibernation, animals, plants, and humans leave their safe, warm spaces to rediscover their surroundings. This spring, we invite you to walk through a portal and enter a new realm. The latest exhibitio

Showtime
It has been a long time since I have felt the anxiety of entering my artwork in exhibits. As much as I don't enjoy the process, I know that if I want my work to be seen, I need to take some chances and participate in both shows and social media. I got in a few and missed some others but it will not slow me down. Last year I was honored to have my art in Times Square up on the big billboards and this year one of the exhibits I was in was a mobile one, Guerrilla Gallery (3 sid

PARTIAL BACK STORY Some of you may know that in my WEB3 world I am an architect and builder in the Metaverse platform called VOXELS. I have been building for over 18 months and have enjoyed just about everything about it including the meditative process and especially the community. I have met some incredible creators here. Supporting Turkey + Syria with NFTs
The artist community has a tendency to wrap their arms around disaster and devastation. This is no different in Web3 and the NFT artist community particularly the Tezos community. It was no wonder when over 500 artists jumped in to contribute their work to a fundraiser that will continue for months. As of February 22nd, the #TezQuakeAid fundraiser has raised over 95K tez. It is exhilarating to see a community come together to assist. Anytime there is a call for artists with
